Bridge repair works will be carried out on the M5 Motorway in the proximity of Inárcs between 17th March and 18th April 2025 in the direction of Szeged at chainage 36 during which traffic will be diverted at the technical crossings between chainage 35 and 37. Significant congestion is expected on this section. Between 18th March and 18th April 2025, the traffic on the overpass above the motorway will be limited to one lane. AKA Ltd. kindly asks road users to exercise patience due to the traffic restrictions caused by the repairs.
Preparations for bridge repair works are underway from 18 March 2025, which will affect both sides of the motorway with temporary traffic diversions.
During the first phase of the bridge repair and bridge repair works – between 24th and 27th March 2025 – on the M5 Motorway the traffic between chainage 35 and 37 km in the direction of Szeged will be temporarily diverted into the fast lane and into the fast lane of the opposite side, thus ensuring two available lanes for travelers in each direction on the motorway. During this period, leaving and entering the motorway, as well as accessing Inárcs rest area and its facilities, including the petrol station, will remain possible for travelers.
During the second phase of the bridge repair works – between 27th March and 29th March 2025, the traffic between chainage 35 and 37 km in the direction of Szeged will be temporarily diverted into the fast lane and into the fast lane of the opposite side, thus ensuring two available lanes for travelers in each direction on the motorway. However, on 27th and 28th March from late afternoon to early morning the M5 Motorway in the direction of Szeged between chainage 35 and 37 will be closed. On the aforementioned section the entire traffic will be diverted into the fast lane of the opposite side. During this period, leaving and entering the motorway, as well as accessing Inárcs rest area and its facilities, including the petrol station, will remain possible for travelers.
During the third phase of the bridge repair works expectedly from 30 March 2025, two available traffic lanes with speed limit will be ensured for travellers in each direction on the motorway. The bridge repair works will continue with temporary traffic restrictions.
Between 17th March and 18th April 2025 lane narrowing and a 3.5-tonne weight limit will take effect on the bridge over the motorway, while maintaining traffic moving in both directions.
Traffic in the direction of Budapest will be able to move on two lanes during the entire duration of the restrictions.
The repair works are expected to be completed by 18th April 2025. A height restriction of 4,2 m and speed limits of 60 and 80 km/h are to be expected within the aforementioned section.
