Road surface repair works will be carried out on the M5 Motorway at Röszke rest area located near chainage 173 between 24th July and 9th August 2024 in the direction of the border crossing. During the first phase of the road surface repair works the rest area will be partially accessible, but in the second phase between 30th July and 9th August 2024, it will be closed. AKA Ltd. kindly asks road users to exercise patience due to the traffic restrictions caused by the repairs.
During the first phase of the road surface repair works – between 24th and 29th July 2024 – roadside repairs with local restrictions will be carried out at the Röszke rest area located near chainage 173 km of the M5 Motorway in the direction of the border crossing. The rest area will remain accessible for travelers. In the second phase of the works – between 30th July and 9th August 2024 – the Röszke rest area and petrol station will be closed. During this period accessing a petrol station next to the motorway will be possible at the Szatymaz rest area located at chainage 151.
Access to the border crossing for traffic from Röszke or Mórahalom at the Szeged south interchange will be possible via a detour route turning around at the Szeged west interchange. A speed limit of 100 km/h is to be expected within the aforementioned section. The repair works are expected to be completed by 9th August 2024.

AKA Ltd. asks travelers to drive more carefully and pay attention to colleagues working in the diversion, keeping the speed limit on the M5 Motorway. Unforeseeable events may result in changes to the aforementioned schedule. AKA Ltd. reserves the right to modify the schedule of the maintenance works.
